Design & Build of Quality Landscapes, their Briefs and the Results

Project: Westways School

Location: Crookesmoor, Sheffield

The Brief :

To build a memorial garden to a high specification within the school’s grounds to a strict budget. The design involved converting an area of tarmac playground into an enclosed garden with timber sleeper retaining walls, planting beds, a pergola and an arbour, seating, stone walls and stone paving.
Objectives:
To complete the works to a high standard and to a tight deadline.
To maintain the highest standards of safety as the works were in school grounds during term time.
Comments:

The project was completed within budget and timescale and to the satisfaction of the client. We are now tendering for another project in the school grounds, to re-construct an area of playground with terracing, planting beds and areas of adventurous play for the children.

Project: Private Garden

Location: Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire

The Brief :

To design a garden layout comprising informal planting beds and a formal ‘parterre’ garden within a lawn.

Objectives:

To produce a high quality design to be implemented by the clients themselves.
To incorporate plants grown by the clients and complement these with the planting proposals.
Comments:

The clients were happy with the design and carried out the planting with impressive results. They are now planning to carry out the next phase of planting – a blue and silver border.

Comments:

The proposals were completed within the allotted timescale and to a very high standard. Customer safety was maintained during construction and disruption was kept to a minimum. The proposals blend in with the surrounding area thanks to the use of complementary materials, hedgerow and tree planting and high-transparency fencing.
